Loh asked how I would define a pessimist....
ReplyDeleteIf you show two persons a doughnut....
The optimist say " hhmmm, looks delicious ...must be tasty"
The pessimist say " Wah, we pay money for a bun with a hole - and not even
sure whatever makes up the ring taste good - so expensive-la"
If you invite two persons to go fishing...
The optimist will tell his wife " Darling, get ready the biggest frying pan
you have - we are having the largest fish you have ever seen for dinner"
The pessimist will tell his wife " Don't do anything until I call to let
you know whether we catch anything worth cooking - I have no experience and
my luck usually is lousy"
If you invite two persons to go shopping ....
The optimist say " Wah, many things are on discount and prices are slashed
70-80% in some cases - surely we will find good bargains"
The optimist say " Aiya, now they have the sale to push out old stocks-lo
and parking so difficult and the crowds will be terrible - and if there is
no crowd this means they also know not worth going for the old stocks-la"
Hope the above situations is helpful to you :)) Cheers
HaHaHa...I'm too optimistic and showed in the last shopping example as 'optimist'
ReplyDeletein both answers - the second person should be the pessimist....but by now I
guess all of you already understand the difference and also spotted the
mistake...Enjoy!
